I served in the Royal Navy from 1976-2004 and served on many types of warships during my service and was involved in numerous Operations worldwide including Operation Corporate in 1982 onboard HMS Ledbury but missed out on the South Atlantic Medal by 12 days,  Hong Kong Handover in 1997 onboard HMS Chatham. Also saw active service in the Gulf(Op Telic)(Op Granby)/Afghanistan(Op Veritas).  During  my last 4 years service I served in the Permanent Joint HQ in Northwood deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan on several occassions in 2003/ 2004, was also deployed to other Operational theatres within the Middle East. I also deployed to other Worldwide locations whilst serving in PJHQ J6 including Diego Garcia, Eritrea and Islamabad.

I left the RN in 2004 and I was lucky enough to gain employment shortly after with a Defence Communiations company in Yorkshire and have been with the them since. I am divorced and live in Ripon, North Yorkshire.
