I note to date that just 9 M.P.'s have signed the Early Day Motion 327, which is not good enough!!! Lets make sure that all those that have professed support for the campaign sign this motion which will send out a clear message to the court jester Brown!!!
Charles, I am not in the least surprised that you have not recieved a reply from the so called Veterans Minister, and I doubt if you will, but, good luck. I would suggest that you are correct in your observations that it would have been given scant study by some underling within the MoD. If a man was ever ill suited for post then it is certainly Kevan Jones.

This recognition is long over due. I served and got several medals, however, many of my friends and colleagues either arrived in theatre too late for the medal or supported the effort from outside the zone. I know many who despite serving many years have no recognition. The Veterans' Badge is great for week day wear but the NDM is long over due as recognition of the work of our young boys and girls and is for "sunday" best. Keep up the good work. I just signed the petition on line and wrote to my MP Mr Tom Levitt (High Peak).

I have made a formal complaint to the Information Officer about Kevan Jones' failure to disclose information relating to discussions within the MOD about the NDM and the Veterans Recognition Report. It was an FOI Act request. Two nasty questions; (a) how many hours were spent studying the report and (b) what were the grades of the civil servants involved ? I suspect that it was a cursory glance made by very junior civil servants.
So much for this so-called Minister who will not even meet us.

Tim, good work mate. Dr A Murrison MP knows about the campaign. But it will do no harm at all to remind him there are plenty watching and checking that the Conservatives will follow through on their pledge to have a full review of all outstanding Medal claims, NDM included. They have also stated their desire to overhaul the HD Committee. Lets hope they are true to their word.

I have today recieved a reply from DavidCameron, who in turn has passed on the details of the Conservative Party's Veterans Minister, Andrew Murrison. I have in turn E-mailed him with the campaign details and requested him to read the NDM report. So, here's hoping!
NOTHING at all from Brown or anybody else associated with him, no surprise there though!

Well gents, having read again the NDM report it makes me wonder why we all took the oath and wore the uniform!! I have no regrets at all for doing what I did in my small way to show my willingness to serve this country if the poo hit the fan, but when I read of the faceless buerocrats, self appointed arbritators who are non elected, non approachable, answerable to no one who have probably NEVER served in any shape or form it makes me wonder!!
Just who are these people to decide what is worthy of recognition and what isn't?
No doubt these individuals will have knighthoods, life peerages etc bestowed upon them when they call it a draw, along with a nice pension, member ship of some exclusive club with all the privelige's that brings, and they will believe that they have EARNED it!!
Again, having read the report you can see why they are CIVIL servants.
I for one will watch the result of the next election, and, if this miserable shower get the chop then we shall see if Liam Fox is as good as his word.
To date I have recieved one reply from our earstwhile politicians in regard to my numerous letters/E mails, and that one merely repeated the sound bites from Coney and his wretched crew.
Hope springs eternal!!

Great to see how popular the Campaign Site is. We at UK Challenge Coins have produced a Veterans Challenge Coin, the UK Veterans Coin is for veterans of all the Armed Services, including serving members.

The reverse depicts the three branches of HM Forces.

£2.15 from every coin goes direct to Holidays 4 Heroes

Tim, you know I was thinking the exact same thing. Dug in around Stanley with the Rapier Sqn, it felt like they may come back at us. Nothing was taken for granted and that is certainly how we were briefed. Forgotten undervalued, nobody is interested. A breath of fresh air seeing this campaign wanting to see all of us remembered and valued, restore our dignity, God knows we were willing to do whatecer it took. Who are these politicians to judge us, they haven't walked in my leaky DMS boots!!
